Since 1985, JazzAscona has been one of the world’s most important events dedicated to the New Orleans beat, attracting an enthusiastic audience every year. The originality of its diverse program, the relaxed atmosphere, and the spectacular setting of the festival have been appreciated by its many visitors for decades.

JazzAscona is a magnificent festival and the only one in Europe that offers a complete immersion in the music, culture, and cuisine of New Orleans.

Over 10 days, around 200 concerts are offered, taking place from midday until late at night on the four stages along the lakefront and in the bars, restaurants, alleys, and squares of the picturesque Borgo.

Starting in 2022, all concerts are free.

The festival offers a unique musical mix. From New Orleans jazz to swing, blues to R&B, gospel, and soul, all genres connected to the great tradition of jazz and African American music are represented.

JazzAscona is the only festival in Europe officially supported by the city of New Orleans. Ascona and New Orleans are also “Sister Cities,” and the official city partnership was signed by the mayors of both cities during the 2022 festival.
