Privacy policy

Your privacy matters to us

Last updated: October 2026

1. What this is about

This privacy policy explains which personal data we process when you visit ticino4you.ch, request an activity, write to us or subscribe to our newsletter, why we do so and what rights you have. We comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies to people in the EU, with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

SunLiving GmbH
Gewerbestrasse 5, 6330 Cham, Switzerland
Ticino office: Via San Gottardo 164, 6648 Minusio
Email: office@ticino4you.ch
Phone: +41 91 291 31 78

Please contact us at this address with any questions about data protection or to exercise your rights.

3. Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted by cyon GmbH in Basel on servers in Switzerland. With every visit the server stores technically necessary information: IP address, date and time, requested address, referring page, browser and operating system. We need these logs to operate the site securely, to fend off attacks and to find errors. They are not combined with other data and are deleted after a short time. To protect against attacks, our hosting provider and we also use a firewall (Wordfence) that checks requests based on the IP address.

4. Booking requests and customer account

When you request an activity, we process your first and last name, email address, phone number, preferred date and start time, number of people, the chosen offer and your message. For the request, the system automatically creates a simple customer account; you do not need to choose a password. This lets us assign the request and lets you send further requests or keep a wishlist later.

We use this data to check your request, confirm the date and availability and organise the activity. For this we pass the necessary details to the provider of the chosen activity (for example boat rental, tour operators or event organisers in Ticino), who uses them only to carry out the activity. You will receive a confirmation by email.

At present nothing is paid online on the website. Payment is made after confirmation directly to the provider or as stated in our confirmation. If we introduce online payment, we will update this policy beforehand.

5. Contact and support form, email and phone

If you write to us using the contact or support form, we process your name, email address, phone number (optional), subject and message. The form sends your details to us by email; they are used only to answer your request. The same applies if you contact us directly by email or phone. If your enquiry concerns a booking, we may need to pass your details to the provider concerned.

6. Newsletter

For the newsletter we need your email address and your explicit consent, which you give by ticking the box in the form. We inform you about new activities, events and tips from Ticino. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every newsletter or with a short email to us. We will then remove your address from the mailing list.

7. Protection against spam and abuse

To prevent our forms from being misused for spam, we check every submission automatically: with a trap field invisible to people, the time between loading and sending, and the number of submissions per hour. For this purpose your IP address is stored only in encrypted form (as a checksum) for one hour and then deleted automatically. There is no analysis beyond this check.

8. Map on the contact page

On the contact page we show a map from OpenStreetMap. When the map loads, your browser requests map data from the OpenStreetMap Foundation (United Kingdom), transmitting your IP address. According to Switzerland’s assessment, the United Kingdom provides an adequate level of data protection. The link “Open in Google Maps” leads to Google; data is only sent to Google if you click it.

9. Cookies and local storage

We only use cookies that are necessary for the site to work: for your chosen language, for the booking form (selected date) and, if you are logged in, for your customer account and wishlist. These cookies contain no advertising or analytics data. You can delete or block cookies in your browser, but some features such as booking may then not work.

We currently use no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. If we introduce such tools, we will only do so with your consent via a cookie banner and will update this policy beforehand.

10. Fonts, content and links

Fonts and icons are loaded from our own server; no connection to Google or other providers is made for this. On our pages we link to providers’ websites and to our profiles on Facebook and Instagram. These are plain links; no data is transmitted to these services when you visit our site. The linked sites are governed by their own privacy policies.

11. Disclosure and transfers abroad

We do not sell personal data. We only pass on data where necessary for the purpose: to the provider of the requested activity, to our hosting provider and service providers for operating, email and maintaining the website (who process data only on our behalf), and to authorities where we are legally obliged to. Our data is stored in Switzerland. If a provider is based abroad, for example in Italy, we only disclose the details needed to carry out the activity.

12. How long we keep data

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose. Booking requests and related correspondence are kept for handling the booking and any follow-up questions. Records relevant for accounting are kept in line with statutory retention obligations, in Switzerland generally ten years. Messages from the contact form are deleted once the enquiry has been dealt with and no retention obligation applies. We delete your customer account on request.

13. Data security

Transmission between your browser and our website is encrypted (HTTPS). We keep software and extensions up to date, back up the website regularly, restrict access to the administration to a few people and additionally protect the login. Nobody can guarantee complete security for transmission over the internet, but we do what is appropriate according to the state of the art.

14. Your rights

You have the right at any time to:

  • ask whether and which data we process about you
  • have inaccurate data corrected
  • request deletion of your data unless a retention obligation applies
  • object to processing
  • receive your data in a common format or have it transferred
  • withdraw consent you have given (for example for the newsletter)

Please write to us at office@ticino4you.ch. To make sure no unauthorised person receives information, we may ask you to prove your identity. If you disagree with our response, you can contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC); people in the EU can contact the data protection authority in their country.

15. No automated decisions

We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that significantly affect you, and we do not create personality profiles.

16. Changes

We update this privacy policy when our website or the services we use change. The version published here applies.
